WoW ! it was worth the effort of building it , and waiting 12 months to try it,At Lake gairdner (Sth Australia) Tues. 7th march 2006, I set a land speed record for M/F 175 class 71.323 MPH, and to top ot off , I managed to go faster than a Honda Nova 125 ( different capacity class, but still felt good), and a 1942 Harley 750 (vintage s/v 500 class) who removed the rear head , valve lifters and compression rings to compete in the vintage 175cc class, and went 63 MPH ! (side valve engines get to go down 2 engine classes to offset their ineficiencies)This newly set record was achieved using '70 - '80 honda single "technology" and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the people from the XL board who offered their help and advice. If you take into consideration the fact that I out weighed the bike by 30 LBS and I'm not exactly streamlined (ha ha )I wonder what a 2002 DOHC top end , and another 30cc could do?
