Anyone have one? I was wondering how could I make one?

My guess, based on your previous inquires, is that you want it for that 75 XL125.

Doesn't that bike already have an AC ignition? (It shares its coil with the TL125.)

What would a batter eliminator accomplish on such a system?

I dont know, would it not work?

If I run without a battery all my lightbulbs blow up or burn out

Not as wacky as it might seem David--I had to use one to get street legal (sort of) with a side port cafe--if I tried to wire it up with both the tail light AND brake light off the lighting circuit, neither was adequate--so I ran one, can't remember which off of a BatPac--about $30 at BatPac.com (?)---kept the open area under the seat--no side covers--tucked it up under the seat, nice and neat--I'm told that it would have been cheaper to get a capacitor at radio shack but this unit was nicely made and came with directions and I have no idea what MFD you would ask for--wound up with a nice bright tail light and same for the brake light---

Bluechevelless---what do you mean "all your light bulbs burn out"?---the headlight and tail light have no-none -zero relationship or connection to the battery--if they are burning out that is an unrelated problem--if they quit blowing when you put the battery back in then you have a bastard harness--providing that bike is actually an A/C igniton type--when you turn the key on with a battery in there can you turn on your headlight? (without the engine running?)

well mainly my guage lights and my tail and brake light burn out when I run without a battery, my turn signals draw enough power that they dont burn out when turned on.     I dont have a battery eliminator, I was wondering how to make one to prevent this.

My headlight only comes on when the engine is running and all the other light bulbs will work when you turn the key on (running off the battery).

Here is a discussion of battery eliminators. Be sure to view pages 2 and 3.

You must use a battery or an eliminator or your rectifier could fry. I use a 40,000uf, 40v cap and it works well but I'm thinking about trying one of these. https://ebatteriestogo.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=EBTG&Product_Code=D5695-AB  I use 12v versions of that battery in two other bikes and, after 1.5 years of use, they are the best batteries I've ever owned. They're  sealed so they can be mounted in any position.

If you use only a large capacitor as an eliminator than you must always have load when the motor is running. Either with a resistor(s) or what I do, leave the lights on all the time.

A battery eliminator or a sealed 6v battery were my 2 choices that I was going to get. which would you recommend?

I am having a problem lightbulbs blowing out, is there a way I could limit the power to keep them from blowing out as easily? The ones im mostly having a problem with it the brake light, tail light, and all the guage lights... Would a brand new sealed battery keep this from happening? How bout a battery eliminator? There seems to be some sort of resistor up behind the headlight what does that do? I know is been broke a couple of times and I just fixed it right so hopefully itll do something.

Where can I get the little 6v 1.7W guage lights? My local honda parts place wants $3 dollars each and that way too much for me.

Get a battery. You have other electrical problems and it's a lot easier to diagnose with a battery. Your dc lights could blow if you are running without a batt or eliminator but I would suspect bad grounds, connectors and/or switch contacts also. The resistor just bleeds ac current for the low beam and is not really necessary.

that would certainly be my take on it--in the case where I used one (eliminator), it was for a reason--I just wanted to get a see through look on this project--you need to do some voltmeter work and trace what is getting sent out--like to the regulator and then after the regulator and then after the battery, etc.--if you had a bad regulator, say in the short position where it just serves as another piece of wire , the battery would still be limited to whatever is stored in it--or fried itself--how about the fuse--if it is the right size it should be fused to the load and prevent this--I think there are problems in there that wouldn't  necessarily go away just by eliminating the battery--

I got a sealed battery at a local battery supply, hooked it up and everything works.... had to work on the blinker tho cause it wasnt working but finally got it to start blinking.  I noticed that sometimes the lights are dim and sometimes the lights are bright. I got the biggest 6V 5ah battery there that would fit on my bike so it would last long. No burned out light bulbs yet
