hey guys,i just got my brother an 85 XL100S,it supposedly needed a harness.
so i purchased a harness off ebay,but while waiting(still waiting for it today),my friend came over,and somehow we managed to get spark with just the wiring that was on the bike(wiring from the stator(black wire,green wire from the chain guard,on/off switch,coil) and we got spark,but the spark was kinda on and off,it was there sometimes,and wasnt there other times,so i bought a new coil,and this still didnt fix it.
i dont understand bikes with points very well,so i need some advice.
i also tried swapping condensors,that didnt help either.
so if anyone could give me some advice,id greatly appreciate it.
