I curently have a 85xr350 head and cover I want to put on my 84 xl350 so I can switch to a single carb and get an aftermarket setup. It looks the same on the outside but I havnt takken the head off my xl yet. Does anyone know if this will work?

I would NEVER convert a dual carbed bike to a single carb bike but I am a performance tuner.

I looked seriously into converting an XR250L to dual carbs but the frame was offset so the dual carbs would not fit because they would hit the offset shock. on the dual carbed bikes the frame and shock was centered.

Id say if you insist on converting to single it would take a custom manifold at the very least.

Its not that I want to switch to a single carb I just dont know what to do once I get a better cam on the bike are the xr 350 carbs going to be enough?  I bought the head for the rocker cover as mine is going bad again not sure why the oil isnt getting up there gonna have the pump looked at. I guess the two carb setup would flow more than the aftermarket setup for the 85 xr. I wonder why honda went back to a single carb.
