I'm concerned about oil temps and cracked heads on my '83 xl600r so I thought an oil cooler might be a good idea. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it and if you have any advice on this modification. Someone on adv rider posted a pic of a small power steering cooler that was used as an oil cooler on a bmw and it was small enough to be mounted out of the way and looked like a good option. He did reccomend using a thermostat to bypass the oil cooler until the engine warms up but I always let my bike warm up before riding and I have a oil temp dipstick so I should just be able to wait until engine is warm and ride and do without the thermostat right ?
