Good afternoonPosted this early but don't know what happened - can't find the post. Anyway I stripped my TL250 down and am going to try and do some restoration. Everything going ok until I found out that powder coating the frame destroys the swingarm bushings due to the high heat curing process. Can the bushing be replaceds with bronze machine bushings? Also was going to get the engine checked out but am afraid I can't get a gasket set to put it back together. Parts seem to be really scarce which is too bad. Although the bike gets a lot of knocks I think it has a rather majestic look to it and the 4 stoke sound is sure quiet compared to some of the same year two strokes. Any comments on the gasket set or bushings are appreciated. Would be great if there is a site for TL250 restoration type questions. Sure hope I have not started something that can't be finished.thksTim in Alberta Canada

Hey Tim...looks like you and I are it...

I get my gasket sets from Dennis Kirk (listed as XL250K Motosport 73-76)...

Swingarm bushings...part # 52109-360-310 at Western Hills Honda (on the web) and last I checked, the still had more than 50 in stock...

Stickers are on ebay now...

Hope this helps

Murray

To All

Red Rider site is no longer in business and arms racing has been waiting for about 6 months for his stock.  If anybody knows of an alternate site pls post as I need a set and have not been able to locate as yet.

Thks

Tim

I had an old Yamaha IT that needed swingarm bushings that were no longer available, had the machine shop whip me up a set of ones fron some tuff industrial plastic but coulda choose the orrigional bronze. Price was not too bad (forget the price but I am cheap)

Let me know if you are looking to sell this bike!
