So, I've been talked into keeping the better of the two TL250s and peddling the other to the guy who talked me into it---it's almost completely apart now and stuff will get sent off to various vendors and here I am again in the middle of a project....there are conspiring forces at work here, I'm sure------------before I'm done with this one, another barn bike will be FORCED upon me and it will need attention before this one gets done...the way of things I guess--------the attention this one is getting has robbed the previous project from reaching finality but then it had it coming because it had done the same to the previous--blah, blah blah---------the other guy, herafter referred to a guilty party, or gp was at the honda shop the other day raving about his new find and while he was there one of the main dudes in the shop rambled on about how much he was going to love this bike because they have such smooth power as a result of the ultra heavy flywheel honda put on the TLs------------I was stunned---I replied to the gp that anytime he wanted he could trade flywheels with any number of guys wanting to add some snap to their XL and that the remark made by the dude was preposterous----Now---I made a mistake once in the 60's and I suppose it could happen again---am I dreaming here? I thought there was about a two pound difference in the TL vs the XL 250 flywheels--TL being the lighter weight---right?

Bob,

The XL250 is 1 lb heavier and the XL350 is 2 lbs heavier than the TL.  That is the Rotor weight difference for the magneto.  I am not sure what the actual crank flywheel weights are, but the later XL250 K model was lighter than the early XL250.
