Here is the new sidecover that I am working on along with the button CDI.  No, I am not using the stock magneto cover and the new cover will actually have a clear cover over the rotor and stator.

It is going slow because I am working on one of the compression releases for the 350 head, and we had a major plumbing problem that resulted in a $1200 water bill and one of my son's is moving to England this month etc...  Will get back on it soon.  I am doing so many things to the 350/486 that the list seems endless.  Upside down 4054 forks, CR125 tank, seat change, engine changes, change steering head angle on the frame etc.....

Swiss, I've had one of those ignitions on one of my bikes since spring and it works good and so far no problems. Should make an excellent MX bike ignition. Pat.

Thanks Pat,

Difference is that I am going to try to use the XR200 trigger for the mechanical advance.  They say that there is an advance built into the CDI but I haven't had mine going to check it out.  Have you used a timing light to check for an advance curve?  Experimental is also the carbon fiber side cover.  I don't think it will get hot enough while running to break down the epoxy, but it might get pretty warm after the engine is shut off?  The cf is supposed to be good for a little over 200F degrees.  It was oven cured at over 300F.

I am also wanting to run one of the new auto-clutches, but was told that they won't fit the 350 clutch basket.  I want to look further into that.

Swiss, On that littlebitty flywheel it's hard to tell but, it looked like about 5 degrees electronic advance. That's what I've been told about the clutch also. The guy I know that did it adapted the CRFauto unit and basket on to the 350 gear.  Pat.

He didn't do it for himself so don't know if they liked it or not. Short track, indoor concrete and supermoto. Works good for holeshots and lets go when braking so you don't get brake chatter[wheel hop]. Pat.
