I have my forks apart and didn't get back to them for a few weeks for reassembly. I forgot to note which way the Fork Seals go in, wiper facing down or facing up?

The manual does not show or describe at all. Does anyone have a picture of the correct orientation.

The manual I have is for a 1979 and up xl, mine is a 1978, is the spec for fork oil amount the same?

Any help would be appreciated.

Just to clarify.....

When you put the Seal into the top of the Fork Slider, should you be able to see the thin spring that is in the seal from above or did I put it in backwards.

Stupid question I know........
