I have a 1974 XL125, that has needed an overbore/hone. I have taken it to nearly 0.50mm over (waiting til i get piston and rings to match to before finishing), and things are looking good now.

What I was wondering was if, now that I'll be at 56.5mm bore, I can use rings/piston from a 76+ bike? They are much easier and cheaper to find. I know the wrist pin is the same, but can anyone confirm deck height for the 124cc jug on the later bikes? What about connecting rod small-end width? Will this piston crown work with my K0 head and 122cc overbored jug?

Thanks all!

not sure but I have a K0-K1 1mm over bore piston and ring set. if i dont use it I'm willing to selling it for what i paid for it.

but i have to wait till i can find out if i can get a new 79 xl125 piston to work in a 122 bored out cylinder and not have piston to valve problems.
