Looks like my '00 XR650L caught the 30300-MY6-671 virus .. no spark and the book says the resistance between the leads to the IPG should be 500 ohms ... I'm seeing 15k ohms. Everything else checks out ok, the primary and secondary coil windings, neutral and kickstand switches, and stop/run switch are all ok. So it's that or the ICM is bad. The good news is the IPG is $41.00 plus S&H, the bad news is it's under the right crankcase cover so throw in a gasket as well.
Update: It's fixed.
