Hey guys, so I recently bought a 1979 Honda XR500 that had been sitting a while.  The guy I bought it off of got it from his brother and didn't know when it last ran, but it had been at least 4 years.  When I went to take off the carb, I realized that it is not the stock carb (see picture). The side of the carb says PE 10AARA then a 9 or some odd symbol. My first question is, does anybody recognize what this carb may have come off of?  Maybe an older elsinore or an odyssey (those were the closest I could find, but none had a choke valve quite like that)? My next question is, would a carb like this even work on an XR500?  Sorry, I am new to 4-strokes.  It seems like the stock one is much more complex, so I am not sure of the difference.  Thank you!

The Keihin PE10 is an upgrade carb from the Honda factory hop-up kit its 37mm where as a standard is 34mm.

Thank you for the information Jday! Sorry about the delayed response, I thought I had posted thank you way earlier.
