Just a note to others relying on Haynes manual accuracy.

My '73 XL250K0 doesn't charge the battery so while trouble shooting I took out the stator windings to inspect and measure resistance properly.
The Haynes book I have (new reprint) says one of the points to measure should be 0.29 ohms.

Mine was measured to 2.29 ohms so I was about to tear into the stator to search faults but by chance I found this thread:
http://forum1.aimoo.com/XLBoard/XL250/Stator-help-1975-XL250-1-2457859.html
where tuscarawas posted a page from the factory repair manual. It said same measure should be 2.29 ohms.

I was ready to spend a bundle on a new stator/cdi-kit but now I can use it for other stuff more needed.
Thanks tuscarawas! smiley29

This is the book I have:

I'm glad it helped you out.
