UPLOADING IMAGES

When uploading images into your posts there are two main factors to consider:

1. If the image is stored on your PC, you may use the “Image Upload” function to upload it and…

2. If the image is stored somewhere on the internet (e.g. ImageShack), you may use the “Image URL” function to upload pix.  Please note - the “Image URL” function does not really upload your image as part of your post, but works by including a link to your image – for example a link to ImageShack.  The disadvantage of this method is that the pages take longer to load and your images in your posts would disappear if for whatever reason a link to the external site (e.g. ImageShack) is lost.

Here is a link to How to upload images using URLs...

NB:  It appears that Aimoo’s forum software is unable to correctly handle very large image file sizes.  In general, graphic files should automatically resize to the default set by Aimoo i.e. 600 X 450 pixels when uploaded & posted.  If images are 3264 X 2448 pixels, for example it appears they will be incredibly slow to load & may not correctly resize for webpage viewing.

However, any of the following dimensions for uploaded images are fine:

 640 X 480 Pixels

 800 X 600 Pixels

 1024 X 768 Pixels

 1920 X 1080 Pixels ...

Pix may be resized using software such as Microsoft Photo Editor - if need be.

You are very welcome melovelo.   Sorry to hear you are having issues with uploading images - thanx for persevering.

What Browser & Browser edition are you using?  If you are using Internet Explorer - IE9 is not compatible with Aimoo - IE8 & IE10 are fine.  Have you tried setting the compatibility settings?  I know it's just a bandaid resetting the compatibility settings - but it works as a kind of work-around.  Here's a thread regarding IE9 & compatibility settings on the Aimoo Help Forum if you are interested:

Have you tried other Browsers?

Maxthon Cloud Browser 4.1.2.3000 works well - here's a free download if you are interested:

Plz let me know how you go ...   Have a good one ... Cheerz OZ :)

Just a quick heads up guys ... smiley59

When uploading images from your PC - please be sure to click on the correct icon ...

... if you click on the icon I underlined in blue (in the following snippet) - that is the [File Uploader] - (not the Image Uploader) ... and if you click on that icon it will not upload images and will show the following message:

"The format must be [.doc,.xls,.pdf,.rar,.zip,.txt]" ...

However, when you click on the icon I underlined with red - that is the [Image Uploader] ... where you can upload your pictures i.e.
