Hi Guys ... plz disregard the current "Summer" skin - with the cupcakes lol ... this is the skin a former "board administrator" left us @ The XL Board with when he decided to "take" the previous skin creation with him last night.  I am in the process of creating a new skin for The XL Board.  This is an Aimoo default one & not what the finished skin will look like.

There is work in progress in the background.   Thanks for your patience & understanding.

Have a great week guys!  Cheerz OZ smiley59

Thanx bunches XLKirk ... really appreciate your positivity ... always have ...

... it's taking longer than anticipated to design & create a new skin, forum elements etc, sort out the code etc for our beloved forum - which just recently turned 9 years of age:

http://forum1.aimoo.com/XLBoard/OFF-TOPIC/THE-XL-BOARD-S-9TH-BIRTHDAY-1-2272100.html

... it will all be fine & back to normal again soon ... & everything is falling into place ... as mentioned - have worked out all the coded links to oldrice.com etc which was one of my major concerns & which were actually a part of The XL Board from its very inception as you know & he had absolutely no right to take any of that ...

... the new skin, the new header, the new forum icons & all the code, links etc that is associated with The XL Board forum & new skin etc will very clearly stipulate that it is & shall remain the property of The XL Board - © all rights reserved ... fullstop.

No I am not a happy camper @ the moment regarding his incredibly immature & self-centred behaviour & actions ... to say the least ...

On the upside - all will be fine & working right again soon ... I will ensure that it is ...

Cheerz :)

Hmmm, I like the new skin a lot, probably the best look this forum has had, however I think maybe the scale is a bit big. You'd really need to have a fairly large monitor and a maximized browser just to get the whole header on the screen and category gum drops push too much off the page down off the screen. The graphics at 50% of this scale I think it would be perfect. Just MHO.

Thanx very much skorpioskorpio – your positive comments are very much appreciated... smiley5

With regards to the Forum Width –  it is the standard width for Aimoo forums & is set @ the same setting as was previously.

Just for clarification & given the issues you are experiencing – what size resolution (number of pixels across the screen) do you have?   What Browser & Browser edition are you currently using?

BTW have you tried to change the zoom level on your Browser to a lower % rate?

I don't maximize my browser windows ever, I typically run browser windows at around 8-900 pixles wide by maybe 1000 high or theres abouts for the actual rendering display area on a very generous 3 screen array. At that browser resolution I get about 3/4ths of the width of the header graphic when I land on the page and all forum categories or topics are scrolled off vertically. On a category page, the page cuts off the gold bar buttons so that I can read "NEW TOP " in the first button and have to scroll to the right to read the 2nd. I can see about 9 1/2 topics within a window, and the "last post" column is almost completely scolled off the screen to the right. I think on prior versions when header graphics were smaller things would wrap on smaller width browser windows, but because the wider graphic sets the overall render width the text elements no longer wrap as they did. Between the header graphic and the gumdrop graphics on the individual topics or categories it tends to push the page to about 6 full scrolls where previously it was probably more like 3. The "World Visitors" table used to represent about 1/4th of the page vertically and now only represents about 1/8th. My point is simply that on a browser window that is larger than you could fit on a typical entry level monitor maximized, the page ends up needing to be scolled around almost like you would if you were viewing it on a cell phone, and is the widest minimum render width of any forum I subscribe to by a large amount and has less vertical topic summary information per page by I'd say at least half. Setting browser scale so I don't have to scoll this web page when I don't have to do that for any other page I frequent seems kind of silly. Like I said I like the design, I just think it's too large in scale.

Hey skorpioskorpio, yeah I hear you ... during the testing process I viewed the new skin on multiple screens with different resolution settings to ensure that it was viewable etc ... so I was a little puzzled when you had mentioned issues viewing the forum - however, I guess the 3 screen array you use may be the reason you may not be viewing the forum page correctly ...  I view the forum as per Posts # 16 & 17 - plenty of room & no cut-offs etc ... lol the "gum drops" as you describe them are forum buttons with shine on them & different checkerplate patterns used in their background for the 2 respective buttons ... as stated the forum width % setting is the same as used in the previous skin & the zoom level can be modified on your Browser to accomodate your individual preferences.   Cheerz OZ :)

Nice work OZ.
