The search tags are useful for searching for items of interest, but not useful as a header at the top of each page, just wasted scrolling space.

G'day Swiss ... BTW the search tags have always been located @ the top of each sub-category on The XL Board i.e.

...and on this subject, I'm pretty sure that when you search this forum that the *only* thing you can search against is the search tags which are the tags *you* enter when you create a new topic. So if you are creating a new topic about carbs or cams you should put those things in the tags field when you create your topic, or no one will learn from the answers to your post. As a note to readers looking for answers, to try and find topics that the topic originator did not fill in the tags field, you may get better results by googling "xlboard topic" than you will with the search in this forum.

Another way to search for Topics or Authors on The XL Board is:

Click on the [Search] button located @ the top right-hand side of the Forum page i.e.

You will be navigated to this page ... Key in the keyword in the desgnated field ... and click [Search] i.e.

... the posts relating to the keyword you are searching for will appear i.e.

Click on [Read] & you will be navigated straight to the relevant threads/posts.

Sorry Guys,

Aimoo might like to put all of the tags at the top of the page, requiring you to slide down the page to get to the real topics but I have never seen this on any of the other Forums that I am on and I am on several.  They all use the Search Box form that opens up a new page where you can enter your search criteria.  Since MOST of the time when you open the pages you are NOT searching and are instead reading the latest post it is a waste of space at the top of the page.  If they HAVE to be there the bottom of the page would be much better and you could have a Search Link Box at the top that would take you to the Tags listings for that Forum Group at the bottom of the page.

I never mentioned it to Geoff because I figured it might be something that made it easier for him to keep his pages organized.  MOST Tags on web pages are in the programming and hidden.  They are used for others doing Web Searches, not Topic Searches and are not seen by the users unless the user asks the page to view the Source Program.
